Job costing done simply

It closed the gap on unbilled hours within the first quarter, and time entry is simple enough that the team actually does it. It is job costing, not project management, there are no Gantt charts, but we live with it.

Pros

It closed the gap on unbilled hours within the first quarter.

Cons

It is job costing, not project management, there are no Gantt charts.

Real margins from real bills

It closed the gap on unbilled hours within the first quarter. Only real gripe is that reporting is limited to what Xero gives you.

Pros

It closed the gap on unbilled hours within the first quarter.

Cons

Reporting is limited to what Xero gives you.

We know our margins now

Tracked time pulls straight onto the invoice so nothing goes unbilled, and time entry is simple enough that the team actually does it. No complaints so far.

Pros

Tracked time pulls straight onto the invoice so nothing goes unbilled.

Cons

You need the Ultimate plan, which is a jump from Grow.

Good costing, not planning

It is job costing, not project management, there are no Gantt charts, and no resource planning if you need to schedule the work as well. Costs come from real supplier bills, not numbers typed into a spreadsheet, which is about the only positive.
