Auto enrolment finally stopped worrying me

Payslips self serve so nobody emails me asking for one. That said, corrections to a previous period are more awkward than they should be and reporting is basic if your accountant wants detail.

Pros

Payslips self serve so nobody emails me asking for one.

Cons

Corrections to a previous period are more awkward than they should be.

Good for a small team

Mixed. No payroll training and I have never missed an RTI deadline, but the five employee inclusion means the real cost is higher than the headline.

Pros

No payroll training and I have never missed an RTI deadline.

Cons

The five employee inclusion means the real cost is higher than the headline.

Pay run takes ten minutes now

Auto enrolment assessment happens without me remembering to do it, and a pay run for twelve people takes about ten minutes. No complaints so far.

Pros

Auto enrolment assessment happens without me remembering to do it.

Cons

Corrections to a previous period are more awkward than they should be.

Simple payroll, does the job

Fine until you need complexity

Auto enrolment assessment happens without me remembering to do it. Only real gripe is that corrections to a previous period are more awkward than they should be.

Fine until you need complexity

HMRC notices come straight into the pay run. Copilot caught a net pay that had moved 40 percent before I committed.

Pros

HMRC notices come straight into the pay run.

Cons

CIS subcontractors are not handled here, which confused us at first.
