Fine until you need complexity

A pay run for twelve people takes about ten minutes, and payslips self serve so nobody emails me asking for one. Reporting is basic if your accountant wants detail, but we live with it.

Pros

A pay run for twelve people takes about ten minutes.

Cons

Reporting is basic if your accountant wants detail.

Auto enrolment finally stopped worrying me

Mixed. No payroll training and I have never missed an RTI deadline, but CIS subcontractors are not handled here, which confused us at first.

No payroll training and I have never missed an RTI deadline.

CIS subcontractors are not handled here, which confused us at first.

Simple payroll, does the job

Mixed. A pay run for twelve people takes about ten minutes, but corrections to a previous period are more awkward than they should be.

Anomaly checking earns its keep

HMRC notices come straight into the pay run, and auto enrolment assessment happens without me remembering to do it. The five employee inclusion means the real cost is higher than the headline, but we live with it.

Pros

HMRC notices come straight into the pay run.

Cons

The five employee inclusion means the real cost is higher than the headline.

Good for a small team

Payslips self serve so nobody emails me asking for one, and Copilot caught a net pay that had moved 40 percent before I committed. Not enough depth if you run multiple pay frequencies, but we live with it.

Pros

Payslips self serve so nobody emails me asking for one.

Cons

Not enough depth if you run multiple pay frequencies.
