Does the basics well

Running payroll inside the same product means no journal to key by hand, and auto enrolment assessment happens each period without me chasing it. It is a paid add on, so compare the real total against Xero and Sage, but we live with it.

Pros

Running payroll inside the same product means no journal to key by hand.

Cons

It is a paid add on, so compare the real total against Xero and Sage.

Handy if you already use QuickBooks

Payslips self serve so the team stopped emailing me for copies, and one supplier for accounts and payroll keeps the audit trail simple. Corrections to a past period are more awkward than they should be, but we live with it.

Pros

Payslips self serve so the team stopped emailing me for copies.

Cons

Corrections to a past period are more awkward than they should be.

Payslips self serve so the team stopped emailing me for copies. Only real gripe is that not something a payroll bureau should be looking at.

Does the basics well

Payslips self serve so the team stopped emailing me for copies. That said, not something a payroll bureau should be looking at and depth runs out fast if your payroll is anything but straightforward.

Pros

Payslips self serve so the team stopped emailing me for copies.

Cons

Not something a payroll bureau should be looking at.

The pay run is forgiving for someone who is not a payroll specialist, and auto enrolment assessment happens each period without me chasing it. No complaints so far.

Pros

The pay run is forgiving for someone who is not a payroll specialist.

Cons

CIS sits in the accounting side, which confused us at first.
