Add the cost before you compare

One supplier for accounts and payroll keeps the audit trail simple, and auto enrolment assessment happens each period without me chasing it. No complaints so far.

Pros

One supplier for accounts and payroll keeps the audit trail simple.

Cons

Depth runs out fast if your payroll is anything but straightforward.

No journal to key anymore

The pay run is forgiving for someone who is not a payroll specialist, and one supplier for accounts and payroll keeps the audit trail simple. CIS sits in the accounting side, which confused us at first, but we live with it.

Pros

The pay run is forgiving for someone who is not a payroll specialist.

Cons

CIS sits in the accounting side, which confused us at first.

Auto enrolment just works

Running payroll inside the same product means no journal to key by hand. Only real gripe is that depth runs out fast if your payroll is anything but straightforward.

Pros

Running payroll inside the same product means no journal to key by hand.

Auto enrolment just works

Payslips self serve so the team stopped emailing me for copies, and one supplier for accounts and payroll keeps the audit trail simple. No complaints so far.

Pros

Payslips self serve so the team stopped emailing me for copies.

Cons

Corrections to a past period are more awkward than they should be.

Handy if you already use QuickBooks

Running payroll inside the same product means no journal to key by hand. Auto enrolment assessment happens each period without me chasing it.

Pros

Running payroll inside the same product means no journal to key by hand.

Cons

It is a paid add on, so compare the real total against Xero and Sage.
