Add the cost before you compare

Payslips self serve so the team stopped emailing me for copies, and auto enrolment assessment happens each period without me chasing it. Depth runs out fast if your payroll is anything but straightforward, but we live with it.

Pros

Payslips self serve so the team stopped emailing me for copies.

Cons

Depth runs out fast if your payroll is anything but straightforward.

Handy if you already use QuickBooks

The pay run is forgiving for someone who is not a payroll specialist. Only real gripe is that depth runs out fast if your payroll is anything but straightforward.

One supplier for accounts and payroll keeps the audit trail simple. Only real gripe is that CIS sits in the accounting side, which confused us at first.

Fine for a simple payroll

CIS sits in the accounting side, which confused us at first, and it is a paid add on, so compare the real total against Xero and Sage. The pay run is forgiving for someone who is not a payroll specialist, which is about the only positive.

Pros

The pay run is forgiving for someone who is not a payroll specialist.

Cons

CIS sits in the accounting side, which confused us at first.

No journal to key anymore

The pay run is forgiving for someone who is not a payroll specialist, and running payroll inside the same product means no journal to key by hand. No complaints so far.

Pros

The pay run is forgiving for someone who is not a payroll specialist.

Cons

Not something a payroll bureau should be looking at.
