Good value once you are on Standard

Reporting is fine until you want something custom, then it is export to Excel, and adding employees to payroll pushes the monthly cost up faster than expected. Support answered the phone in under five minutes at year end, which is about the only positive.

Pros

Support answered the phone in under five minutes at year end.

Cons

Reporting is fine until you want something custom, then it is export to Excel.

Payroll being included changed the maths

Receipt capture is metered and 30 a month goes quickly in a busy period, and the Start tier is too limited, you end up on Standard almost immediately. The cash flow forecast is genuinely useful for planning payment runs, which is about the only positive.

Pros

The cash flow forecast is genuinely useful for planning payment runs.

Cons

Receipt capture is metered and 30 a month goes quickly in a busy period.

Reliable, if not exciting

CIS deductions calculate correctly, which the last package got wrong twice, and the cash flow forecast is genuinely useful for planning payment runs. The Start tier is too limited, you end up on Standard almost immediately, but we live with it.

Does what a small business needs

VAT returns submit cleanly and the MTD side has never given us trouble, and bank reconciliation is quick once the rules learn your suppliers. Adding employees to payroll pushes the monthly cost up faster than expected, but we live with it.
