The nicest accounting software to use

CIS calculations for subcontractors are handled properly, and bank reconciliation is the fastest I have used, a month clears in minutes. No complaints so far.

Pros

CIS calculations for subcontractors are handled properly.

Cons

The fixed asset register is functional rather than good.

Solid, with a weak entry tier

CIS calculations for subcontractors are handled properly, and MTD VAT submissions have never once given us trouble. No complaints so far.

Pros

CIS calculations for subcontractors are handled properly.

Cons

Most businesses need to start on Grow, not the headline entry plan.

Unlimited users is a real saving

Payroll is included from the Grow plan so we dropped a second subscription. Only real gripe is that most businesses need to start on Grow, not the headline entry plan.

Payroll is included from the Grow plan so we dropped a second subscription.

Start on Grow, not Ignite

Inventory is basic, we run a separate app for real stock control, and the fixed asset register is functional rather than good. The app marketplace connected our stock system in an afternoon, which is about the only positive.

Pros

The app marketplace connected our stock system in an afternoon.

Cons

Inventory is basic, we run a separate app for real stock control.

Reconciliation is unmatched

Payroll is included from the Grow plan so we dropped a second subscription, and unlimited users means the whole team can be in the books without a fee. No complaints so far.

Pros

Payroll is included from the Grow plan so we dropped a second subscription.

Cons

Reporting is clean but less customisable than I expected.

MTD VAT submissions have never once given us trouble. That said, the introductory discount ends and the standard price is a jump and the fixed asset register is functional rather than good.

Fast month end, every time

Unlimited users means the whole team can be in the books without a fee, and bank reconciliation is the fastest I have used, a month clears in minutes. The introductory discount ends and the standard price is a jump, but we live with it.
