Start on Grow, not Ignite

Payroll is included from the Grow plan so we dropped a second subscription. CIS calculations for subcontractors are handled properly.

Pros

Payroll is included from the Grow plan so we dropped a second subscription.

Cons

The Ignite tier is far too tight, twenty invoices a month is nothing.

Unlimited users is a real saving

Unlimited users means the whole team can be in the books without a fee. Bank reconciliation is the fastest I have used, a month clears in minutes.

Pros

Unlimited users means the whole team can be in the books without a fee.

Cons

The fixed asset register is functional rather than good.

The nicest accounting software to use

Mixed. The app marketplace connected our stock system in an afternoon, but inventory is basic, we run a separate app for real stock control.

Solid, with a weak entry tier

The app marketplace connected our stock system in an afternoon. Only real gripe is that the introductory discount ends and the standard price is a jump.

Our accountant knows it inside out so support is never a problem. Only real gripe is that inventory is basic, we run a separate app for real stock control.

Reconciliation is unmatched

The fixed asset register is functional rather than good. Reporting is clean but less customisable than I expected. Looking at alternatives.

The nicest accounting software to use

The app marketplace connected our stock system in an afternoon, and the interface is genuinely pleasant, which sounds minor until you use it daily. No complaints so far.

Payroll included tipped it for us

MTD VAT submissions have never once given us trouble. That said, most businesses need to start on Grow, not the headline entry plan and the fixed asset register is functional rather than good.
