Fine for a simple trade

HMRC submission went through first time with no error messages. That said, reporting is thin if you want anything beyond income and expenses and the mobile app occasionally logs me out mid entry.

Pros

HMRC submission went through first time with no error messages.

Cons

Reporting is thin if you want anything beyond income and expenses.

Fine for a simple trade

The tax estimate updates as you go so January is not a shock, and my accountant can see the figures without me emailing spreadsheets. No complaints so far.

Pros

The tax estimate updates as you go so January is not a shock.

Cons

Importing two years of history from a spreadsheet was fiddly.

Sorted my quarterly updates

Setup took an evening and I have never used accounting software before. Only real gripe is that there is no balance sheet, so my accountant still does a year end job.

Pros

Cons

There is no balance sheet, so my accountant still does a year end job.

Fine for a simple trade

Quarterly updates take about ten minutes once the bank feed is set up. Setup took an evening and I have never used accounting software before.

Pros

Quarterly updates take about ten minutes once the bank feed is set up.

Cons

You outgrow it the moment you register for VAT.

Simple enough for a first timer

Quarterly updates take about ten minutes once the bank feed is set up, and it does not try to be a full ledger, which is exactly why I can use it. No complaints so far.

Pros

Quarterly updates take about ten minutes once the bank feed is set up.

Cons

Reporting is thin if you want anything beyond income and expenses.

Mixed. Categorising expenses on the phone while sat in the van works well, but reporting is thin if you want anything beyond income and expenses.

Works for a one person business

Setup took an evening and I have never used accounting software before, and the free tier covered everything I needed until I registered for VAT. No complaints so far.

Pros

Setup took an evening and I have never used accounting software before.

Cons

No payroll at all, which caught me out when I took someone on.

Cheap and it files

It does not try to be a full ledger, which is exactly why I can use it, and my accountant can see the figures without me emailing spreadsheets. Importing two years of history from a spreadsheet was fiddly, but we live with it.

Pros

It does not try to be a full ledger, which is exactly why I can use it.
