Simple payroll, does the job

Copilot caught a net pay that had moved 40 percent before I committed. Auto enrolment assessment happens without me remembering to do it.

Pros

Copilot caught a net pay that had moved 40 percent before I committed.

Cons

CIS subcontractors are not handled here, which confused us at first.

Auto enrolment finally stopped worrying me

Payslips self serve so nobody emails me asking for one, and a pay run for twelve people takes about ten minutes. Not enough depth if you run multiple pay frequencies, but we live with it.

Pros

Payslips self serve so nobody emails me asking for one.

Cons

Not enough depth if you run multiple pay frequencies.

Good for a small team

Reporting is basic if your accountant wants detail, and CIS subcontractors are not handled here, which confused us at first. No payroll training and I have never missed an RTI deadline, which is about the only positive.

Pros

No payroll training and I have never missed an RTI deadline.

Cons

Reporting is basic if your accountant wants detail.

No payroll training and I have never missed an RTI deadline. Only real gripe is that CIS subcontractors are not handled here, which confused us at first.

Fine until you need complexity

Copilot caught a net pay that had moved 40 percent before I committed. That said, reporting is basic if your accountant wants detail and the five employee inclusion means the real cost is higher than the headline.

Simple payroll, does the job

Auto enrolment assessment happens without me remembering to do it, and HMRC notices come straight into the pay run. Corrections to a previous period are more awkward than they should be, but we live with it.
