Does what a small business needs

VAT returns submit cleanly and the MTD side has never given us trouble, and bank reconciliation is quick once the rules learn your suppliers. No complaints so far.

Pros

VAT returns submit cleanly and the MTD side has never given us trouble.

Cons

Adding employees to payroll pushes the monthly cost up faster than expected.

Good value once you are on Standard

Some of the AI features feel half finished, and receipt capture is metered and 30 a month goes quickly in a busy period. Having payroll included saved us a second subscription entirely, which is about the only positive.

Pros

Having payroll included saved us a second subscription entirely.

Cons

Some of the AI features feel half finished.

Reliable, if not exciting

Mixed. Moving from spreadsheets took a weekend and the import worked, but reporting is fine until you want something custom, then it is export to Excel.

Works, with caveats on the entry tier

Mixed. Bank reconciliation is quick once the rules learn your suppliers, but the interface changed twice in a year and retraining staff is a cost.

Fine for our size

Invoice chasing runs itself and our debtor days dropped noticeably. Only real gripe is that the interface changed twice in a year and retraining staff is a cost.
