Strong for VAT and CIS

The mobile app lets me raise an invoice from a client site, and project profitability on Plus tells us which jobs actually make money. No complaints so far.

Pros

The mobile app lets me raise an invoice from a client site.

Cons

Custom reporting only really opens up on Advanced, which is a big jump.

Does everything a small firm needs

Moving from Sage took an afternoon and the import brought everything across, and VAT returns submit to HMRC without a single error in two years. No complaints so far.

Pros

Moving from Sage took an afternoon and the import brought everything across.

Cons

The pricing tiers shift often and it is hard to budget a year ahead.

Bank feed is the reason we switched

Project profitability on Plus tells us which jobs actually make money. CIS is handled from the entry tier, which the last package charged extra for.

Pros

Project profitability on Plus tells us which jobs actually make money.

Cons

Receipt limits meant we upgraded a tier sooner than planned.

Project profitability sold it to us

Support was on the phone in minutes rather than a ticket queue. That said, payroll is a separate add on, so the real monthly cost is higher than it looks and the pricing tiers shift often and it is hard to budget a year ahead.

Pros

Support was on the phone in minutes rather than a ticket queue.

Cons

Payroll is a separate add on, so the real monthly cost is higher than it looks.

Strong for VAT and CIS

CIS is handled from the entry tier, which the last package charged extra for. That said, receipt limits meant we upgraded a tier sooner than planned and the 90 percent off deal hides a renewal that stung the following year.

Does everything a small firm needs

The bank feed categorises so well that Monday mornings are no longer a chore, and the app marketplace meant our booking system connected without a developer. No complaints so far.

Pros

The bank feed categorises so well that Monday mornings are no longer a chore.

Cons

The 90 percent off deal hides a renewal that stung the following year.

Bank feed is the reason we switched

VAT returns submit to HMRC without a single error in two years. That said, the 90 percent off deal hides a renewal that stung the following year and you notice the American roots in some of the wording.

Pros

VAT returns submit to HMRC without a single error in two years.

Cons

The 90 percent off deal hides a renewal that stung the following year.
