The nicest accounting software to use

Our accountant knows it inside out so support is never a problem. That said, most businesses need to start on Grow, not the headline entry plan and the fixed asset register is functional rather than good.

Pros

Our accountant knows it inside out so support is never a problem.

Cons

Most businesses need to start on Grow, not the headline entry plan.

Solid, with a weak entry tier

The interface is genuinely pleasant, which sounds minor until you use it daily. That said, the Ignite tier is far too tight, twenty invoices a month is nothing and reporting is clean but less customisable than I expected.

Pros

The interface is genuinely pleasant, which sounds minor until you use it daily.

Cons

The Ignite tier is far too tight, twenty invoices a month is nothing.

Payroll included tipped it for us

CIS calculations for subcontractors are handled properly, and payroll is included from the Grow plan so we dropped a second subscription. Inventory is basic, we run a separate app for real stock control, but we live with it.

Pros

CIS calculations for subcontractors are handled properly.

Cons

Inventory is basic, we run a separate app for real stock control.

Reconciliation is unmatched

Unlimited users means the whole team can be in the books without a fee, and payroll is included from the Grow plan so we dropped a second subscription. No complaints so far.

Pros

Most businesses need to start on Grow, not the headline entry plan.

Solid, with a weak entry tier

Bank reconciliation is the fastest I have used, a month clears in minutes, and MTD VAT submissions have never once given us trouble. The fixed asset register is functional rather than good, but we live with it.

Pros

Cons

The fixed asset register is functional rather than good.

Start on Grow, not Ignite

Payroll is included from the Grow plan so we dropped a second subscription, and the app marketplace connected our stock system in an afternoon. No complaints so far.

Pros

Payroll is included from the Grow plan so we dropped a second subscription.

Cons

The fixed asset register is functional rather than good.
