Does the MTD job without the ceremony

Setup took an evening and I have never used accounting software before, and categorising expenses on the phone while sat in the van works well. You outgrow it the moment you register for VAT, but we live with it.

Sorted my quarterly updates

It does not try to be a full ledger, which is exactly why I can use it. That said, reporting is thin if you want anything beyond income and expenses and there is no balance sheet, so my accountant still does a year end job.

Fine for a simple trade

It does not try to be a full ledger, which is exactly why I can use it, and categorising expenses on the phone while sat in the van works well. No complaints so far.

Works for a one person business

It does not try to be a full ledger, which is exactly why I can use it, and the tax estimate updates as you go so January is not a shock. There is no balance sheet, so my accountant still does a year end job, but we live with it.

HMRC submission went through first time with no error messages. That said, there is no balance sheet, so my accountant still does a year end job and importing two years of history from a spreadsheet was fiddly.
