Sorted my Self Assessment

Everything is on the phone, which suits how I actually work, and quarterly updates went to HMRC with no fuss at all. No free tier, so Sage looks cheaper if you barely drive for work, but we live with it.

Pros

Everything is on the phone, which suits how I actually work.

Cons

No free tier, so Sage looks cheaper if you barely drive for work.

Simple, and it files

The automatic mileage tracking has paid for the subscription many times over. Receipts scan straight in and the categories are usually right.

Pros

Cons

No free tier, so Sage looks cheaper if you barely drive for work.

Does the MTD job on my phone

It detects trips and I just swipe to say business or personal, and the Self Assessment view maps to the boxes so January is calm now. No complaints so far.

Good for the self employed

The Self Assessment view maps to the boxes so January is calm now. Only real gripe is that there is no balance sheet, my accountant still does the year end.

Mileage tracking alone is worth it

You outgrow it the second you register for VAT or incorporate, and there is no balance sheet, my accountant still does the year end. Everything is on the phone, which suits how I actually work, which is about the only positive.
