Sorted my quarterly updates
Mixed. The free tier covered everything I needed until I registered for VAT, but you outgrow it the moment you register for VAT.
Pros
The free tier covered everything I needed until I registered for VAT.
Cons
You outgrow it the moment you register for VAT.

Good starting point, you will move on
Quarterly updates take about ten minutes once the bank feed is set up, and it does not try to be a full ledger, which is exactly why I can use it. Importing two years of history from a spreadsheet was fiddly, but we live with it.

Quarterly updates take about ten minutes once the bank feed is set up.
Cons
Importing two years of history from a spreadsheet was fiddly.

Reporting is thin if you want anything beyond income and expenses, and you outgrow it the moment you register for VAT. Setup took an evening and I have never used accounting software before, which is about the only positive.

Setup took an evening and I have never used accounting software before.

Setup took an evening and I have never used accounting software before, and categorising expenses on the phone while sat in the van works well. No complaints so far.
Pros
Setup took an evening and I have never used accounting software before.
Cons
The mobile app occasionally logs me out mid entry.

The tax estimate updates as you go so January is not a shock. That said, you outgrow it the moment you register for VAT and there is no balance sheet, so my accountant still does a year end job.
Pros
The tax estimate updates as you go so January is not a shock.
Cons
You outgrow it the moment you register for VAT.
